What's on your checklist when you buy privately? Things people mention: a lien search, a history report, checking the VIN matches the paperwork, a pre-purchase inspection, looking under the car for rust, and knowing what SGI needs to register it (taxes and safety inspection rules can apply, so check with SGI). What did you learn the hard way?
